Removing And Installing Canister For Windscreen Washer System







Removing Canister For Windscreen Washer System
- Remove right front wheel.
- Remove rear right wheel housing liner.
- Disassemble the engine compartment cover from the coolant expansion tank.
- Remove tire pressure monitoring system antenna.

NOTE: A stuck hose can be pulled off more easily if it is heated with a hot-air gun.







1. Disconnect the front headlight cleaning lines plug connection and the electrical plug connection. Press connectors "arrow" together and pull apart.







2. Open up the cover on the filling neck for the coolant expansion tank and remove the screw under it. Remove the filling neck from the coolant expansion tank and pull out of the canister for the windscreen washer system.







3. Support the bottom part of the canister with your hand and remove the two fastening screws.







4. Pull off the two water lines from the pump "arrows A".







Pivot the tank approx. 60° downwards.







5. "A" Pull canister downwards and out at the mounting point.
6. "B" Detach the canister from the body and remove.

Installing Canister For Windscreen Washer System
Ensure that the water and electrical supply lines are laid properly.

1. Insert the canister in the slot in the body at a position 60° to the horizontal.







2. Connect the two water lines to the pump connections "arrows A".







Pivot the tank upwards:







3. "A" Mount the water tank in the body and press towards the front in the slot.
4. "B" After pivoting it up but before inserting in the rubber sleeve, press the canister down again.







5. Secure the canister with the two fastening screws. Tightening torque 7.2 Nm (5 ftlb.).







6. Slide the filler necks in the washing system tank, use soap suds. Mount the supports on the coolant expansion tank and secure with the fastening screw.







7. Connect the water and electrical plug connection.
- Install the tire pressure monitoring system antenna.
- Install front right wheel-house halves.
- Reassemble the engine compartment cover and the coolant expansion tank.
- Install right front wheel.
