Windscreen wiper motor

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Windscreen wiper on
- Internal wiper motor control module function test

Possible causes of fault
- Wiper blades, wiper arms or wiper mechanism frozen or blocked
- Wiper blades, wiper arms or wiper mechanism restricted due to build-up of snow, ice or incorrect installation in wiper area
- Heavy load due to snow or stiff mechanism

DANGER:
Danger of injury when wiper motor starts.
Danger of injury to hands and fingers when working on wiper mechanism with engine running.
- Make sure to switch ignition off and disconnect the power supply to the wiper motor.

NOTE: This fault is set by the control module if more than 50 surmountable or unsurmountable blockages are detected (power consumption to speed). This may be caused by a build-up of snow during a heavy fall of snow.
