Fault Code 0364
Fault code 0364Terminal 15 power supply
NOTE: The ignition must be switched off and then switched on again in order to display an error message in the instrument cluster.
NOTE: First check the fuse. This fault can also indicate a faulty fuse. Fuse carrier at right of dashboard, fuse 51.
System in limp-home mode 1: Fault not caused by incorrect gear ratio or unusual switching.
NOTE: Please refer to 'Limp-home mode 1' table in the main chapter entitled 'Control module function (coding/programming)'.
Use the 'Actual values' menu in the Porsche System Tester II No. 9588 to check the transmission status and the actual values of the shift solenoid valves and sensors.
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on, voltage '< 9V' for 1 second
- Engine running and engine speed '> 400 rpm' for 2 seconds
- The fault is stored in memory after it occurs 20 times
See description of fault effect in main chapter Fault overview.
Possible causes of fault
- 'Lower limit value not reached', fuse faulty
- 'Lower limit value not reached', generator faulty
- 'Lower limit value not reached', short circuit to B+ in ground leads
- 'Lower limit value not reached', short circuit to ground in voltage wires
- 'Lower limit value not reached', open circuit in fuse box or in voltage or ground leads
- 'Lower limit value not reached', Tiptronic control module
Affected pins
Tiptronic control module plug:
- Pin 1 'ground', from ground pin MB26
- Pin 2 'ground', from ground pin MB26
- Pin 27 'terminal 15', from fuse carrier at right of dashboard 'fuse 51'
- Pin 28 'terminal 15', from fuse carrier at right of dashboard 'fuse 51'
Diagnosis/troubleshooting G 0210
Wiring diagram of power supply to terminal 15 of 'Tiptronic control module'
1 - Tiptronic control module
2 - Ignition switch
B+ - Terminal 30 power supply (pin 3)
F1 - Terminal 30 fuse, fuse carrier at right of dashboard 'fuse 29'
F2 - Terminal 30 fuse for ignition switch
F3 - Terminal 15 fuse, fuse carrier at right of dashboard 'fuse 51'
IG - Terminal 15 power supply (pins 27 and 28)
GND - Ground supply (pins 1 and 2)
VGND - Body ground
NOTE:
Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the affected 'pins' on the Tiptronic control module plug connection and the 'pins' on the 'existing transmission wiring' plug connection are neither damaged nor corroded. Remove any soiling or corrosion/oxidation. Replace damaged parts/wires.
NOTE:
Replacing control module: Before replacing the 'Tiptronic control module', the ground connections, power supply and plug connections on the control module must be checked. Please observe the coding of the control module. After the test drive, read out the fault memory again with the Porsche System Tester II No. 9588. Additional causes of faults that could damage the 'Tiptronic control module' should be detected and remedied.
Before carrying out the work instruction, please check fuse '51', terminal 15 power supply for the Tiptronic control module, in the fuse carrier at the right of the dashboard and replace it if necessary. After replacing the fuse, determine and remedy the cause of the fault in accordance with the work instruction below.
