Fault code 0411

Signal from button for sun blind is constantly present

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Panorama roof system (PDS) control unit, internal function test

Possible cause of fault
- Signal level outside of defined range
- Short circuit in signal wire
- Switch sticks or is faulty

Affected pins
Panorama roof system (PDS) control unit plug D 'control switches and sun blind':
Pin 7 'sun blind signal'
Pin 10 'GND'

Plug on sun blind button:
Pin 1 'signal'
Pin 2 'terminal 31'






NOTE:
- Disconnecting plug connection for sun blind button:
- Unhook locking hooks '1'
- Pull off plug '2'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: After repair, replacement of components of the Panorama roof system, or open circuit of the battery, the limit positions must be relearned for the Panorama roof system control unit.






NOTE:
- The button has two settings each for forward and reverse functions (figure). In the first setting, the sun blind moves as long as the button is actuated. In the second position, the sun blind moves to the end position Open or Closed (jog opening B2 or jog closing A2).
- In order for the correct actual values to be displayed, the respective button position is held during the entire measuring process. This is especially important for position A2 and B2.
