Steering column switch (with electronic unit)

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal control module function test

NOTE: If the cyclical monitoring of CAN comfort detects more than three instances in which no message is received from the 'steering column switch', a fault is stored in the fault memory.

Possible causes of fault

NOTE:
Message from 'steering column switch' still missing despite stable CAN comfort. The indicator light, high beam headlight, light signal and headlight cleaning system functions remain out.
- To restrict the fault, read out the 'steering column switch' fault memory (Please read out fault memory)
- 'No signal/communication' No message from steering column switch on CAN comfort.

Affected pins
Plug 'A' on vehicle electrical system control module:
- Pin 1 'CAN comfort (high)'
- Pin 2 'CAN comfort (low)'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: If there is no incoming signal/message via CAN comfort using several control modules, CAN comfort must be checked for open or short circuits. Refer to 'Checking instructions/CAN data bus'.
