Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
Fault Code 0495
Combination sensor power supply
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal PSM control module function test
Possible cause of fault
- Short circuit to B+ (electrical fault in electric circuit)
- Short circuit to ground (electrical fault in electric circuit)
- Open circuit in circuit to control module (electrical fault in electric circuit)
CAUTION: The combination sensor must not be dropped and must be protected from severe impact.
NOTE: The transverse and axial acceleration sensor and the rate-of-turn sensor are integrated into the 'combination sensor' housing. If a fault is detected in one of these three sensors, the combination sensor must be replaced. The integrated transverse and axial acceleration sensor must be calibrated after replacement.
Affected pins
PSM control module plug:
- Pin 6 'voltage'
- Pin 24 'ground'
Diagnosis/troubleshooting PSM 0101
NOTE: Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the affected 'pins' on the PSM control module plug connection and the 'pins' on the combination sensor plug connection are neither damaged nor corroded. The wiring of the affected components must also be checked for external damage. Repair damaged or corroded 'pins' if possible, otherwise replace affected 'pins'. Repair or replace damaged wire.
