Fault code 0595

Crash data stored

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal vehicle electrical system control unit function test

Possible cause of fault
- 'Please read out fault memory', cutoff relay (to interrupt battery voltage) is active (ignition cannot be switched on)
- 'Please read out fault memory', cutoff relay (to interrupt battery voltage) faulty
- 'Please read out fault memory', airbag control unit faulty

Affected pins

Cutoff relay (to interrupt battery voltage) in current distributor (under left seat)
Plug 'A' on vehicle electrical system control unit:
- Pin 1 'CAN comfort (high)'
- Pin 2 'CAN comfort (low)'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

WARNING:
Danger of personal injury due to risk of fire if there are short circuits in wiring harness or leaking fluids when the cutoff relay (to interrupt battery voltage) is actuated.
- The cutoff relay (to interrupt battery voltage) must only be actuated by trained and authorised staff
- Damage, abrasions or pinched wires in the wiring harness must be located and either repaired or replaced
- Short circuits to B+, short circuits to ground and open circuits in the entire wiring harness must be eliminated or repaired
- Mechanical components must not be damaged in any way that could cause leaking fluids to ignite in the event of a short circuit

NOTE: It there is no incoming signal/message via CAN comfort using several control units, CAN comfort must be checked for open or short circuits. Refer to Checking instructions/CAN data bus.
