Instrument Cluster
Fault code 0778steering angle sensor
CAUTION: Whenever the battery terminal is disconnected, the steering angle sensor must be initialised 'control lamp in instrument cluster lights up'.
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal function test on instrument cluster and gateway
Possible cause of fault
- No signal/communication (no signal from steering angle sensor on CAN drive)
- Steering angle sensor not initialised
- Steering angle sensor faulty
Affected pins
Instrument cluster, plug B:
- Pin 19 'CAN drive (high)'
- Pin 20 'CAN drive (low)'
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
INITIALISATION
The steering angle sensor in Cayenne must be initialised after the following work is carried out:
- Whenever the power supply is interrupted (level control system (NRA) indicator light on).
- After all work on the running gear, the steering angle sensor must be calibrated.
NOTE: Calibration of the steering angle sensor must be performed on a measuring platform. First, the control unit (level control) must be coded successfully and the steering angle sensor must be initialised. The steering angle sensor must be calibrated after work has been carried out on the running gear in the area of the front axle.
