Horn actuation

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal functional check on electronic unit in steering column switch

Possible cause of fault
- Short circuit in horn switch (short circuit to ground)

Affected pins
There is no internal wiring in the horn actuator and thus no pins.

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the 'pins' on the vehicle electrical system (CAN comfort) control module plug connection and the 'pins' on the fanfare plug connection are neither damaged nor corroded or that the wiring to the high-pitch/low-pitch fanfare are neither damaged nor trapped.

NOTE:
Manual check: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first to see whether there is a mechanical fault on the horn actuator and whether this can be remedied.
