Rain sensor

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal wiper motor control module function test

Possible causes of fault
- Windscreen or silicone cushion in the area of the rain sensor faulty or soiled
- Rain sensor/light sensor does not fit windscreen (green glass/ insulating glass with IR protective film)
- Rain sensor/light sensor not coded appropriately for windscreen in wiper motor control module
- Power supply for rain sensor
- Rain sensor faulty

NOTE: Different windscreen types are used, green glass and insulating glass with infrared protective film. The rain/light sensors must be assigned correctly according to the Spare Parts Catalogue "(PET)". The insulating glass can be recognised by the small 'IR' stamp for infrared.

Affected pins
- Wiper motor plug: pin 5
- Rain sensor/light sensor plug: pin 1 and pin 2.
