Fault Code 1673

Distance sensor in brake booster

Diagnostic conditions

- Ignition on
- Internal PSM control module function test

Possible cause of fault

- Actual value of 'distance sensor in brake booster' is evaluated as implausible (implausible signal)
- Short circuit to ground (electrical fault in electric circuit)
- Short circuit to B+ (electrical fault in electric circuit)
- Open circuit in circuit to control module (electrical fault in electric circuit)

Affected pins

PSM control module plug:
- Pin 26 'power supply'
- Pin 5 'ground supply'
- Pin 3 'signal'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting PSM 0101

NOTE: Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the affected 'pins' on the PSM control module plug connection and the pins on the 'distance sensor in brake booster' plug connection are neither damaged nor corroded. The wiring of the affected components must also be checked for external damage. Repair damaged or corroded pins if possible, otherwise replace affected pins. Repair or replace damaged wire.
