Rear/Door Convenience System

Fault code 0576

Terminal 15

NOTE: This fault was detected by the 'rear convenience system' control unit

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Battery voltage Ok (11.4 to 14.5 V)
- Internal rear convenience system control unit function test

Possible causes of fault

NOTE:
- Cyclical monitoring and comparison of the terminal 15 digital signal (KESSY control unit) received via CAN comfort and the incoming terminal 15 analogue signal (KESSY control unit) is per- formed in the rear convenience system control unit It different comparison values are detected, a fault is stored in the fault memory.
- Compares the incoming terminal 15 analogue signal (KESSY control unit) with the terminal 15 digital signal (implausible signal), which the KESSY control unit sends to CAN comfort
- Fuse in fuse carrier at left of dashboard (F53, [5A])
- Open circuit
- Short circuit to B+
- Short circuit to ground

Affected pins
Rear convenience system control unit: Plug A and plug B
- Plug A: Pin 8 'terminal 15 (analogue)'
- Plug B: Pin 2 'CAN high (CAN comfort high)'
- Plug B: Pin 8 'CAN low (CAN comfort low)'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
Visual inspection: In the next troubleshooting section, please check first that the affected pins on the rear convenience system control unit plug connection are neither damaged nor corroded. The wiring and plugs of the affected components must also be checked for external damage and proper contact Repair damaged or corroded pins it possible, otherwise replace affected pins. Repair or replace damaged wires.

NOTE:
Sporadic faults: In the event of faults that occur sporadically, the wiring positions that are linked to moving parts on and in the vehicle must be checked for each system. Various statuses that can cause faults must be simulated with the help of the wiring diagram.

NOTE:
Battery voltage: A battery voltage of between 11.4 and 14.5 V is required for the following troubleshooting procedure. This must be checked and provided, if necessary. On the vehicle electrical system, the voltage to the fuse (input side) must be guaranteed.
