Secondary Air System Bank 2 - Below Limit Value

Diagnostic conditions
- Intake air temperature between 4.5 °C (40 °F) and 80 °C (1 76 °F)
- Engine start temperature below 37 °C (98.6 °F)
- Engine temperature above 4.5 °C (40 °F)
- Mass air flow between 16 Kg/h and 160 Kg/h
- Oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter operational
- Oxygen sensor basic adaptation complete
- No faults in driver for secondary air pump relay
- Diagnosis has not yet been performed in this cycle

Possible cause of fault
- V8 only
- Fuse F4 faulty
- Open circuit to secondary air pump
- Short circuit to ground in line to secondary air pump
- Mechanical fault in secondary air pump relay
- Secondary air valve stiff
- Secondary air pump (air cleaner) blocked
- Air hose from secondary air pump displaced or pinched
- Secondary air pump faulty/stuck
- V6 only
- Fuse F3 faulty
- Open circuit to secondary air pump
- Short circuit to ground in line to secondary air pump
- Mechanical fault in secondary air pump relay
- Secondary air valve stiff
- Secondary air pump (air cleaner) blocked
- Air hose from secondary air pump displaced or pinched
- Secondary air pump faulty/stuck

Affected terminals
- V8 only
Relay for secondary air pump, bank 2, pin 2 and secondary air pump, bank 2, pin 2

- V6 only
Relay for secondary air pump, bank 1, pin 2 and secondary air pump, bank 1, pin 2

Diagnosis/Fault finding - V8
- V8 only

NOTE:
- This fault is set if 75 % of the required secondary air mass is not delivered while driving or 50 % of the required secondary air mass is not delivered during the short test.
- This is diagnosed using the oxygen sensors. In this case, exhaust gas that is too rich is detected during the air injection phase.
- The line from the secondary air pump relay, bank 2, pin 2 to the secondary air pump, bank 2, pin 2 passes through the connection point KE 1, pin 4

Diagnosis/Fault finding - V6
- V6 only

NOTE:
- This fault is set if 75 % of the required secondary air mass is not delivered while driving or 50 % of the required secondary air mass is not delivered during the short test.
- This is diagnosed using the oxygen sensors. In this case, exhaust gas that is too rich is detected during the air injection phase.
- The line from the secondary air pump relay, bank 1, pin 2 to the secondary air pump, bank 1, pin 2 passes through the connection point KE 1, pin 3
