Cruise Control Operator Lever Fault - Signal Implausible

Diagnostic conditions
- Battery voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Ignition switched on

Possible cause of fault
- Break in signal wire
- Short circuit to ground in signal wire
- Short circuit to B+ in signal wire
- Steering column switch module faulty
- DME control module faulty

Affected pins
DME control module connector A, pin 38 and steering column switch module connector A, pin 5

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- The signals from the steering column switch module are sent via CAN comfort to the instrument cluster and are sent from there via the CAN drive to the DME control module. For security reasons, the cruise control main switch information is transferred directly from the steering column switch module to the DME control module via another line.
- The fault code is recorded in the DME control module if either the cruise control main switch information via CAN and via the direct line is inconsistent, or if the steering column switch module has detected an internal fault.

NOTE: The line for DME control module connector A, pin 38, and steering column switch module connector A, pin 3 is routed via plug connection KE 5, pin 3.
