P0602
P0602Control module coded incorrectly (transmission coding)
Diagnostic conditions
- Battery voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Ignition switched on
Possible cause of fault
- DME has incorrect transmission coding
- This fault is set if the DME is coded for manual transmission but receives CAN messages from a Tiptronic control module
Affected terminals
DME control module connector A, pin 60, 'CAN - HIGH'
DME control module connector A, pin 58, 'CAN - LOW'
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
NOTE: If no fault is present, erase the fault memory.
NOTE: If connector A is disconnected from the DME control module and the ignition is or was switched on, the 'DME Control Module TIMEOUT' fault is recorded in many control modules.
NOTE: If control module connector A was disconnected from the DME in the course of troubleshooting or if the voltage supply was interrupted elsewhere (battery, fuse), the throttle adjusting unit must be adapted.
