P1175
P1175Intake air temperature sensor - over limit value
Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Engine starting temperature -35 - +50 °C
- Temperature when engine was switched off greater than 70 °C when the engine was previously running
- Engine switched off longer than 2h
- No fault in engine temperature sensor
Possible cause of fault
- Intake air temperature sensor faulty (short circuit or contact resistances)
Affected terminals
Turbo : DME control module connector B, pin 108, and boost pressure sensor connector, pin 1
Turbo : DME control module connector A, pin 26, and boost pressure sensor connector, pin 2
Naturally aspirated engine : DME control module plug A, pin 26, and pin 1 of MAF sensor plug
Naturally aspirated engine : DME control module plug A, pin 27, and pin 3 of MAF sensor plug
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
MAF sensor
Boost-pressure sensor
NOTE:
- In the case of the turbo engine, the intake air temperature sensor is integrated into the boost pressure sensor.
- In the naturally aspirated engine, the intake air temperature sensor is integrated into the MAF sensor 1.
NOTE:
- Naturally aspirated engines only: In Step 4, the MAF sensor must not be removed, but only replaced complete with the tubular piece.
- A diagonal exchange is possible because both the MAF sensors (including tubular piece) are identical, but the intake air temperature sensor is only used.
NOTE: The diagnosis compares the intake air temperature with the engine temperature for vehicles that have been switched off for an extended period. These must be approximately the same when restarting.
