P1182Positive Crankcase Ventilation Output Stage - Open Circuit
Diagnosis conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Time elapsed after engine start-up greater than 1 second
Possible fault cause
- Fuse F50 faulty (fuse carrier, dashboard, on the left)
- Break in wiring in voltage supply of positive crankcase ventilation heater
- Break in wiring in connection to ground of positive crankcase ventilation heater
- Positive crankcase ventilation heater faulty (heating resistance too high)
- DME control module faulty

Diagnosis/troubleshooting
NOTE:
- The wiring diagnosis proceeds in the DME control module even if the positive crankcase ventilation heater is switched off (i.e. at an external air temperature above 3 °C).
- The positive crankcase ventilation heater is activated continuously if a fault occurs when measuring the external air temperature.
- When test step 6 is performed, the actual intake air temperature must be below 3 °C. The air intake temperature sensor connector can be removed temporarily; when you do this, however, other faults are recorded.
- If fault P1182 was already erased, this is recorded again during test step 6.
