Removal

Note!
^ In order to gain better access for removal of the brake caliper, it is beneficial to turn the wheels fully either to the right or the left!

1. Remove wheel.
2. Release retainer for plug of wear indicator on wheel carrier.





3. Push brake pad back slightly and evenly with piston resetting fixture 144.
4. Undo brake caliper on wheel carrier and hang it in a suitable place in the wheel well (do not open the brake hydraulics!).





5. Remove brake disc after unscrewing the fastening screw. If necessary, remove the brake disc by hitting it gently with a rubber hammer.

Installation
^ Do not confuse right and left brake discs during assembly!
^ Distinguishing characteristic: Part No.! The flat surface of the brake discs is marked with R = right or L = left.

1. Check that all parts are in perfect condition and replace them if necessary.
2. Clean the levelling and centring surfaces on the brake disc and wheel hub. Then apply a very thin coat of Optimoly TA to the centring surface on the wheel hub.





3. Fit brake disc. Tightening torque for fastening screw = 14 Nm (10.5 ft. lbs.)
4. Fit brake caliper. Replace the brake caliper fastening screws after each removal. Tightening torque of the fastening screws = 270 Nm (200 ft. lbs.).
5. Install retainer for plug of wear indicator on wheel carrier.
6. Mount wheel.
