Removing radiator
^ Raise the vehicle using a lifting platform. Disconnect battery.
^ Remove lock mount.
^ Remove the radiator frame.
Caution: Danger of scalding!
^ Never open the cooling system when it is hot. Any emerging coolant may be very hot and can cause scalding!
^ The cooling system must be depressurize before being opened!
The general warning notes apply.
1. Open maintenance cover.
2. Carefully open the cap on the coolant expansion tank. Unscrew the cap in counterclockwise direction.
3. Open cap on the expansion tank and remove.
4. Remove engine guard.
5. Remove the sheetmetal brace under the radiator. To do this, loosen the 4 fastening screws.
6. Drain cooling system. Remove the drain plug from the radiator, drain the coolant into a container and dispose of it according to the applicable national laws if no longer required.
7. Fit a new drain plug on the radiator and tighten it.
8. Install the sheetmetal brace under the radiator. Tighten the 4 fastening screws to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
Note: The retaining clips should be mounted again immediately so that they are not swapped over.
9. Remove coolant hoses on the radiator. To do this, pull out the retaining clips on the two coolant flanges and pull off the hoses. Then fit the retaining clips again so that they are not confused.
10. Pull off the top right vent hose on the radiator.
11. Unscrew fastening screw -D- of the air-conditioning lines on the left radiator side.
12. Unclip the radiator for the power steering. To do this, unclip the wiring to the front out of the holder (-A-) and push it to the left out of the holder (-B-). Hang the radiator carefully downwards.
13. Undo the cooler for the ATF oil. To do this, remove the fastening clips to the left and right and pull the ATF cooler forward off the bolts.
14. Lift up the vehicle radiator and take it out of the vehicle by moving it up and to the right. When doing this, watch out for the connection lines of the air-conditioning system on the left side.
Note: Fix the remaining radiators in the installation position using tie wraps.
