Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair
Removing and installing oil level sensor
1. Jack up the vehicle at the points provided.
2. Remove engine guard.
Warning: Danger of scalding from draining oil! Wear protective clothing specified!
Note: If the oil should continue to be used, it must be collected in a clean container.
3. Undo the 2 oil drain plugs and collect engine oil in a container. Dispose of waste oil in accordance with legal requirements.
4. Clean oil drain plugs and screw in with a new aluminum sealing ring. Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
5. Disconnect the electrical plug on the oil level sensor.
6. Loosen the 3 fastening screws and pull the oil level sensor out of the oil pan.
7. Install the new oil level sensor with a new gasket. Tighten the 3 fastening screws to 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lbs.).
8. Fill in engine oil of the stipulated viscosity and quality. The oil change quantity is approximately 8.5 liters after a dripping time of approximately 20 minutes.
9. Start the vehicle briefly. Then check the oil level. It must be between the MIN and MAX markings on the dipstick.
10. Install the underbody panel.
