Removing Main Catalytic Converter on Cylinder Bank 1 - 4

CAUTION:
Danger of burns.
- Exhaust system can be very hot.
- Only remove the exhaust system when it has cooled down.
- Wear protective gloves.

Removing main catalytic converter on cylinder bank 1 - 4
1. Remove engine guard with transverse strut.

2. Release connecting clamps between the catalytic converters and the exhaust system. Then push the clamps backwards onto the exhaust system. The exhaust clamps must not be reused.







3. Release the catalytic converter holder on the body and transverse strut (two screws each).







4. Remove cardan shaft between front wheel drive and transfer box.







NOTE: Cover the right wing and guide through a ratchet with several extensions from above to loosen the top nut between the starter catalyst and main catalytic converter.

Combined extensions A = approx. 90 cm







5. Push through the extension at the side beside the cylinder head and undo the top connecting nut for the main catalytic converter.







6. Unscrew the three connecting nuts between the starter catalyst and main catalytic converter and remove the main catalytic converter. Remove flange seal.
