Replacing attachment for exhaust manifold (stud)

Caution: Proceed carefully while working as otherwise the engine can be damaged!
Please observe general warning notes and working regulations!

1. Remove exhaust manifold.
2. Remove exhaust manifold seal.





3. Screw two M8 nuts onto the stud and counter with two open-ended wrenches.





Counter both nuts in the direction of the arrow.





4. In order to unscrew the stud, turn rear nut towards the left.

Note: Before inserting the new stud, the interior thread of the cylinder head must be checked for damage!





5. Screw new stud in until hand-tight, then screw two nuts analogously onto the new stud and counter.





Counter both nuts in the direction of the arrow.





6. Screw new stud in by turning the front nut towards the right.





7. The stud must be screwed in until dimension -A- is obtained. Check dimension with a caliper gauge.

8. Reinstall exhaust manifold with new seal.
