Detaching rear mufflers
1. Use a transmission jack to prevent the rear muffler from falling.
2. There is a small notch on the underside of the exhaust pipes that is level with the rear axle transmission. The notch marks the disconnection point.

3. Place the pipe cutter chain around the exhaust pipe near the notch and engage in the other end of the pipe cutter. Then clamp the chain firmly by twisting the handle.
4. Swivel the pipe cutter to and fro in sweeping movements until the pipe is cut through. While doing this, keep tightening the chain by twisting the handle.
5. Then cut through the second exhaust pipe.
6. Undo the four fastening screws to the left and right on the rear muffler and remove the rear muffler from the vehicle.
Replacing rear mufflers
1. Remove the tailpipes on the old rear muffler and attach them to the new one. Fit new holding rubbers.
2. Push the two connecting clamps onto the exhaust pipes on the rear muffler. Then install the rear muffler using a transmission jack. Tighten the four fastening screws (M8 x 25) to 23 Nm (17 ftlb.).
3. Push the connecting clamps across the exhaust system and align them. Tighten the fastening screws to 60 Nm (44 ftlb.).
Tightening torques
