Headlamp Alignment Actuator: Service and Repair



Removing And Installing Servomotor For Headlight Beam Adjustment
- Remove the main headlight.
- Open the cover cap on the headlight.

NOTE: This document describes the servomotors for Bi-Xenon and halogen headlights.

Removing Servomotor

Bi-Xenon headlights







1. Unscrew the fastening screws.







2. Push the servomotor downwards and out, and disconnect the electrical lines.

Remove the cage:







3. Turn the cage in the direction of the arrow (bayonet lock) and remove from servomotor.

Halogen headlights







1. Unscrew the fastening screws.







2. Push the servomotor downwards and out, and disconnect the electrical lines.

Remove the cage:







3. Turn the cage in the direction of the arrow (bayonet lock) and remove from servomotor.

Installing Servomotor

Bi-Xenon headlights

Mount the cage.







1. Slide the cage on the servomotor and turn in the direction of the arrow (bayonet lock).







2. Connect the electrical plugs to the servomotor and slide the servomotor into the mounting point from below.
3. Tighten the fastening screws. Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.).

Close the cover cap.
Install the main headlight.

Halogen headlights

Mount the cage.







1. Slide the cage on the servomotor and turn in the direction of the arrow (bayonet lock).







2. Connect the electrical plugs to the servomotor and slide the servomotor into the mounting point from below.







3. Tighten the fastening screws. Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.).

Close the cover cap.
Install the main headlight.
