Removing And Installing Starter Catalyst







CAUTION:
Danger of burns.
- Exhaust system can be very hot.
- Only remove the exhaust system when it has cooled down.
- Wear protective gloves.

Removing starter catalyst on cylinder bank 1 - 4 - Cayenne S (M48/00)

NOTE: Observe the most important working regulations and warning notes.

1. Remove engine compartment cover over the oxygen sensor plugs.
2. Disconnect the oxygen sensor plug for the oxygen sensor behind the catalytic converter on the left of the water splash panel and unclip the cables from the holder.







3. Remove air cleaner housing
4. Remove wheel.
5. Remove front wheel housing liner.
6. Remove main catalytic converter.
7. Using a mirror, remove the fastening screw on the catalytic converter holder -lower right arrow-.







8. Remove three fastening nuts between the exhaust manifold and starter catalyst.







9. Leave the oxygen sensor cable exposed and remove the starter catalyst in a downward direction.
