Removing And Installing Air Cleaner Housing
Removing air cleaner housing - Cayenne S (type M48/00)
NOTE:
- The description relates to cylinder bank 1 - 4.
- The corresponding wheel housing liner must be removed for this task.
1. Remove left and right engine compartment cover.
2. Pull the cover of the throttle body vertically upwards.
3. Separate the electrical connection from the throttle adjuster. To do this, press on the plug at the top and bottom and, at the same time, pull it off. Unclip the cable from the sheetmetal holder.
4. Release the fastening pins on the throttle body. To do this, twist the right and left pin through 45 degrees in an anti-clockwise direction. The small dot on the pins must be located in the position indicated in the diagram.
5. Remove the fastening pins. Grip the pins on the rubber ring with a pliers and pull them out.
6. Pull off the Y pipe from the throttle body.
7. Disconnect the air flow sensor connections. To do this, undo the hose clamps on the left and right on the bellows and pull the bellows off the air flow sensors.
8. Pull off the air flow sensor plug.
9. Remove the vacuum line on the Y pipe. Press the button and remove the vacuum line.
10. Open the two upper fastening clips on the air cleaner housing.
NOTE: Points 11 to 13 must only be carried out for vehicles with air suspension.
11. Remove the air line on the right air cleaner cover. To do this, unclip the green cover cap. Insert a screwdriver into the notch of the cap and lever the cap off.
12. Push the snap ring into the flange -1- and then pull it off together with the flange -2-.
13. Clip the green cover cap on again after disassembly.
14. Press the cover of the air cleaner element in the direction of the engine, pulling it upwards at the same time.
15. The overflow hose on the coolant expansion tank must be unclipped from the air cleaner housing cover of cylinder bank 1 - 4.
16. Remove the air cleaner element from the air cleaner housing.
17. Unscrew the fastening screw on the air cleaner housing.
18. Unclip the electrical cable from the coolant expansion tank on cylinder bank 1 - 4. The cable is clipped in at two points.
19. Pull the air guide of the air cleaner housing out of the wheel well. To do this, grasp the air guide in one hand and pull it forwards at an angle.
20. Lift the air cleaner housing, tip it towards the engine and remove it from the engine compartment.
NOTE: The air cleaner housing of cylinder bank 5 - 8 is removed in the same way.
