Removing ignition switch
- Remove cover under instrument panel on left.
1. Carefully lift rubber sleeve on the ignition switch -A- using screwdriver, for example, and remove.
2. Carefully unclip trim strip for instrument panel -B- with a plastic spatula. Observe the two upper lugs when doing do.
3. Turn union nut using a narrow plastic spatula, for example, or using the special tool and unscrew the ring from the ignition switch.
4. Press ignition switch inwards and remove towards the bottom
5. Press plug-arrow-andpull off from ignition switch.
Installing ignition switch
1. Connect the plug to the ignition switch until it engages firmly.
2. Position ignition switch in the instrument panel. Position union nut, readjust switch and tighten union nut. Tightening torque 1.6 Nm (1.5 ftlb.).
3. Check clips on the trim strip for the instrument panel for damage and replace if necessary.
4. Position trim strip and press onto the instrument panel until the clips engage.
- Install cover under instrument panel on left.
Emergency operation of the ignition key lock
NOTE: In the event of insufficient or non-existent battery positive voltage, the ignition key can be removed using the emergency operation.
Ignition key:
- Push a pen, for example, into the opening next to the key, turn the ignition key to position 0 and pull out.
Keyless Entry and Drive:
- Key in position 0, press release -arrow- and pull key out.
