Eliminating Symptoms In Body Interior - Reworking Wire Harness For Airbag

Symptoms

Information: Only for vehicles with Porsche Entry & Drive.

Vehicle key is not recognised in the vehicle.

Causes and remedial action
Communication between the vehicle and key is affected by the airbag wire harness in the cup holder area if the key is placed in the cup holder.

To ensure that the airbag wire harness is positioned far enough away from the cup holder housing, the wire harness for the airbag must also be secured to the cross member for the centre console using a line bracket in the event of a complaint.

Tie-wrap 955.612.942.00 TIE-WRAP

Preliminary work
1. Remove centre console cover. REFER TO 681919 Removing and installing centre console cover- section on "Removing"

Reworking Wire Harness For Airbag






1. Position line bracket -A- underneath the cross member (gearshift lever), centre it and tighten the tie-wrap.






2. Clip wire harness for airbag -A- into the line bracket -B-.

Subsequent work
1. Install centre console cover. REFER TO 681919 Removing and installing centre console cover - section on "Installing"
