Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Removing and installing front speed sensors
Removal
1. Raise vehicle at prescribed jacking points and remove the relevant front wheel.





It is a good idea to turn the steering so far that the speed sensor is made more easily accessible.





2. Disconnect speed sensor plug.





3. Unscrew fastening screws and remove speed sensor.

Installation
^ Install in reverse order.
^ The bore for mounting the speed sensor should be free of dirt!
^ The speed sensor should be inserted with Optitemp (Optitemp LG2, 25-ml spray can available under Part No. 000.043.204.21).
^ Use correct tightening torques!

1. Install speed sensor.
2. Clip plug into place.
3. Mount wheel.
