Removing And Installing Wiring Harness For Rear Panel Flap.







- Remove side panel from rear lid.
- Remove lining for rear lid.
- Remove roof lining.
- Remove D-pillar trim.

Removing Wiring Harness For Rear Panel Flap, Left







1. Pull plug off rear window wiper "arrow A".
2. Release plug "arrows B" and pull off from lower part of lock for rear window "arrow C".
3. Cut tie-wrap "D".
4. Release plug connection of contact switch for rear window "arrow E" and disconnect "arrows F".







5. Release plugs on both number plate lights "arrows A" and pull off "arrow B".
6. Undo fastening nut "1" and remove ground lead together with anti-turn lock "a".







7. Unclip wiring harness "arrows A".
8. Press out clips inwards "arrows B".







9. Remove rubber sleeve on window frame "arrow A".
10. Unclip wiring harness from window frame "arrows B" and remove "arrows C".







11. Remove wiring duct from hinge "arrow A".
12. Open wiring duct "arrows B", remove cover "arrow C" and take wiring duct off wiring harness.







13. Compress styrofoam element and remove "arrow A".
14. Pull pink plug out of socket "arrow B".







15. Undo fastening nut "1" "arrow" and remove ground lead together with anti-turn lock "a" from ground pin.
16. Release holder for socket "arrows A" and remove from the opening "arrow B".







17. Release pink socket "arrows A" and press out "arrow B".
18. Pull ground lead from socket holder "arrows C".







19. Press out rubber sleeve "arrow A" and remove lead to pneumatic spring housing.
20. Pull wiring harness inside "arrow B". As space is limited, push the plugs individually past the rear lid hinge.

Installing Wiring Harness For Rear Panel Flap, Left







1. Thread wiring harness out through pneumatic spring housing "arrow". Push the plugs individually past the rear lid hinge.







2. Lay the ground lead in the narrow plug profile "arrow A" and fasten with fabric tape.
3. Push a tie-wire through the pneumatic spring housing "arrows B" and attach ground lead and plug to the wire.
4. Draw tie-wire with wiring harness out through the opening "arrow B" until rubber sleeve "b" engages fully in the opening in pneumatic spring housing "c".

NOTE: The lead must run over the pneumatic spring.







5. Push pink socket into socket holder "arrow A" until locking tabs "arrow B" are felt to engage.
6. Push the two ground leads through the socket holder "arrow C".







7. Press in socket holder "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
8. Tighten both ground leads together with anti-turn lock "a" to ground pin with fastening nut "1".

9. Press in pink plug "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
10. Fit the styrofoam element in the opening "arrow C".







11. Lay lead in wiring duct and push on cover "arrow A" until locking tabs "arrow B" are felt to engage.
12. Push wiring duct with lead onto rear lid hinge "arrow C".







13. Pull wiring harness through window frame "arrows A".
14. Press rubber sleeve into window frame until it is felt to engage "arrow B".
15. Clip wiring harness to window frame "arrows C".

NOTE: During removal, replace damaged clips by repair clips.







16. Clip in wiring harness "arrows A".
17. Clip in wiring harness from the inside "arrows B".

NOTE: During removal, replace damaged clips by repair clips.







18. Push plugs onto number plate lights "arrow A" until locking tabs "arrows B" are felt to engage.
19. Tighten ground lead and anti-turn lock "a" to ground pin with fastening nut "1".







20. Push plug onto rear window wiper "arrow A" until locking tabs are felt to engage.
21. Push plug onto lower part of lock for rear window "arrow B" until locking tabs "C" are felt to engage.
22. Push together plug connection of contact switch "arrows D" until locking tab "E" can be felt to engage.
23. Fasten plug connection of contact switch with a tie-wrap "arrow F" to wiring harness.

Removing Wiring Harness For Rear Panel Flap, Right







1. Release plug on rear lid lock "arrows A" and pull off "arrow B".
2. Release plug on contact switch "arrows C" and pull off "arrow D".
3. Remove release for rear lid







4. Unclip wiring harness "arrows A".
5. Press out clips inwards "arrows B".







6. Remove rubber sleeve on window frame "arrow A".
7. Unclip wiring harness from window frame "arrows B" and remove.







8. Remove wiring duct from hinge "arrow A".
9. Open wiring duct "arrows B", remove cover "arrow C" and take out wiring harness.







10. Remove styrofoam element "arrow".







11. Pull off blue plug "arrow A".
12. Release holder for socket "arrows B" and remove.







13. Release blue socket "arrows A" and pull out "arrow B".







14. Press out front rubber sleeve "arrow A" and remove lead "arrow B".

Installing Wiring Harness For Rear Panel Flap, Right







1. Push wiring harness through to the rear from the inside "arrow A".
2. Pull socket through pneumatic spring housing "arrow B" until rubber sleeve is felt to engage "arrow C".

NOTE: The lead must run over the pneumatic spring.







3. Push blue socket into socket holder "arrow A" until locking tabs "arrows B" are felt to engage.







4. Press in socket holder "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
5. Press in blue plug "arrow C" until locking tabs "D" are felt to engage.







6. Press styrofoam element into the opening "arrow" until it is felt to engage.







7. Position wiring harness in wiring duct and press in cover "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
8. Push wiring harness with wiring duct onto rear lid hinge "arrow C" until locking tabs "D" are felt to engage.







9. Pull wiring harness through window frame "arrows A".
10. Press rubber sleeve into window frame until it is felt to engage "arrow B".
11. Clip wiring harness to window frame "arrows C".

NOTE: During removal, replace damaged clips by repair clips.







12. Press in wiring harness clips "arrows A".
13. Press in wiring harness clips from the inside "arrows B".

NOTE: During removal, replace damaged clips by repair clips.

14. Install release for rear lid







15. Insert plug into rear lid lock "arrow A" until locking tabs "arrows B" are felt to engage.
16. Insert plug into contact switch "arrow C" until locking tabs "arrows D" are felt to engage.
17. Install D-pillar trim.
18. Install roof lining.
19. Install trim for rear lid
20. Install side panel on rear lid
