Removing And Installing Wiring Harness For Rear Window







Removing Wiring Harness For Rear Window, Left
- Remove roof lining.
- Remove and install D-pillar trim.







1. Undo fastening nut "1" and remove ground lead together with anti-turn lock "a".







2. Release holder "arrows A" and remove the two plug connections "arrows B".
3. Release plug connections "arrow C" and disconnect "arrows D".







4. Press out rubber sleeve "arrow A" and remove wiring harness through pneumatic spring housing "arrow B".







5. Release wiring duct "arrow A" and remove from hinge "arrow B".
6. Release cover "arrows C", remove from wiring duct "arrow D" and take wiring duct off wiring harness.
7. Remove the rear spoiler







8. Cut fabric tape "A" and remove lead to GPS sensor "B".







9. Undo fastening screws "3" and remove GPS sensor "arrow A".
10. Release plug "arrow B" and remove from GPS sensor "arrow C".







11. Pull plug off right antenna amplifier "arrow A".
12. Release both antenna plugs "B" and pull off "C".







13. Undo the two ground lead fastening screws "2".
14. Release plug on left antenna amplifier "arrow A" and pull off "arrow B".







15. Remove rubber sleeve from rear spoiler "arrow A".
16. Pull wiring from Velcro strip segments "arrow B" and remove.







17. Remove complete wiring harness on hinge to the rear "arrow".

Installing Wiring Harness For Rear Window, Left







1. Push wiring harness through along hinge "arrow A".
2. Pull wiring harness through the opening "arrow B" until rubber sleeve "C" is felt to engage.







3. Pull pink plug out of socket "arrow".







4. Release holder for socket "arrows A" and remove "arrow B".
5. Push ground lead through socket holder "arrow C".







6. Press in socket holder "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
7. Tighten both ground leads together with anti-turn lock "a" to ground pin with fastening nut "1".

Refer to 'Tightening torques'







8. Press in pink plug "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.







9. Push plugs into sockets of same colour "arrows A" until locking tabs "arrows B" are felt to engage.
10. Press plug connections into holders "arrows C" until locking tabs "D" are felt to engage.







11. Lay wiring harness in wiring duct and push on cover "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
12. Push wiring duct onto hinge "arrow C" until locking tabs are felt to engage.







13. Insert rubber sleeve into rear spoiler "arrow A".
14. Position wiring harness in rear spoiler and press onto Velcro strip segments to secure "arrows B".







15. Push antenna plug onto left antenna amplifier "arrow A" until locking tab "B" is felt to engage.
16. Tighten ground leads with fastening screws "2".







17. Push wiring harness through under the right wiring harness "arrow A".
18. Push both plugs onto right antenna amplifier "arrows B" until locking tabs "C" are felt to engage.

NOTE: When connecting plugs, observe colour marking "a" on antenna amplifier.

19. Push plug onto white connection "b" of right antenna amplifier "arrow D"







20. Push plug through under the holder "arrow A".
21. Push plug onto GPS sensor "arrow B" until locking tabs "C" are felt to engage.
22. Screw down GPS sensor with fastening screws "C".







23. Tie the two leads together with fabric tape "arrow A".
24. Secure lead with fabric tape "arrow B" to the wiring harness.

Removing Wiring Harness For Rear Window, Right







1. Undo fastening nut "1" and remove ground lead together with anti-turn lock "a".
2. Disconnect water line at the plug connection "arrows B".
3. Pull off green plug "arrow C".







4. Release holder for socket "arrows A" and remove "arrow B".
5. Push ground lead out through socket holder "arrow C".
6. Release green socket "arrows D" and press out of socket holder "arrow E".







7. Release holder "arrows A" and remove the two leads "arrows B".
8. Release plug connections "arrow C" and disconnect "arrows D".







9. Release wiring duct "arrow A" and remove from hinge "arrow B".
10. Release cover "arrows C", remove "arrow D" and take wiring duct off wiring harness.







11. Press out rubber sleeve "arrow A".
12. Pull out wiring harness on hinge to the rear "arrow B".







13. Release plug connections to rear window heater "arrow A" and disconnect "arrow B".
14. Release plug connections to rear window antenna "C" and disconnect "arrow D".
15. Pull off water line from spray nozzle "arrow E".
16. Release plug on stop light switch "F" and pull off "arrow G".







17. Undo fastening screws "2" and remove remove ground lead.
18. Release black plug on right antenna amplifier "arrow A" and pull off "arrow B".
19. Pull plug off red connection of right antenna amplifier "arrow D".







20. Remove rubber sleeve from rear spoiler "arrow A" and release wiring harness at Velcro strip segments "arrow B".
21. Remove wiring harness.

Installing Wiring Harness For Rear Window, Right







1. Tie water line and the individual leads together with fabric tape "A".
2. Secure leads with fabric tape to the flat side "B" of the combination plug.
3. Push wiring harness along hinge through pneumatic spring housing "arrow A".
4. Pull out wiring harness downwards. If necessary, push lead from the outside.

NOTE: When installing the wiring harness, make sure the insulation of the lead is not damaged.

5. Remove fabric tape and lay leads to the connection points.







6. Press socket into socket holder "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
7. Thread ground lead "arrow C" and water line "arrow D" through socket holder.
8. Press in socket holder "arrow E" until locking tabs "F" are felt to engage.







9. Join up water line "arrows A" until it can be felt to engage.
10. Insert plug "arrow B" until locking tabs "C" can be felt to engage.







11. Connect the two plug connections "arrows A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
12. Press plug connections into holder "arrows C" until locking tabs "D" are felt to engage.







13. Tighten ground lead together with anti-turn lock "a" to ground pin with fastening nut "1".
14. Pull in rubber sleeve "arrow A" until it is felt to engage in the opening "B".







15. Fit styrofoam element "arrow" so that it is felt to engage in the opening.







16. Press rubber sleeve into rear spoiler "arrow A".
17. Position wiring harness in rear spoiler and press onto Velcro strip segments "arrows B".







18. Lay wiring harness in wiring duct and push on cover "arrow A" until locking tabs "B" are felt to engage.
19. Push wiring duct onto hinge "arrow C" until locking tabs are felt to engage.







20. Insert antenna plug "arrow A" until lock "B" is felt to engage.
21. Connect white lead to red connection of right antenna amplifier "arrow C".







22. Secure white and blue leads with fabric tape "arrows" to wiring harness.
23. Tighten ground lead with fastening screws "2".







24. Connect water line to windscreen washer nozzle "arrow A" until it is felt to engage.
25. Insert plug to stop light "arrow B" until locking tab "C" is felt to engage.
26. Connect plug connections "arrows D" until locking tabs "E" are felt to engage.
27. Install D-pillar trim.
28. Install roof lining.

Tightening Torques
