Removing and installing sealing ring for left-hand selector shaftTools
Remove sealing ring
1. Move selector lever to position N.
2. Remove engine guard.
3. Remove shield on the transmission. To do this, unscrew three fastening screws.
4. Remove tab washer -A- on the cable.
5. Unscrew selector lever cable from the ball joint with universal disassembly tool 21 .
6. Push a sharp tool, e.g. scriber, into the sealing ring and pull it out.
Installing sealing ring
1. Position new sealing ring.
2. Drive in sealing ring with special tool pressure sleeve T10 174.
3. Position selector lever on selector shaft and screw in fastening nut.
Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
4. Attach tab washer -A- to the cable holder on the transmission side.
5. Press cable on the ball joint.
Note: When installing the shield, ensure that all fastening parts -figure- are present and inserted correctly.
6. Install shield on the transmission. To do this, screw in three fastening screws.
7. Install engine guard.
8. Functional test of gear selecting system:
^ Will the vehicle start?
^ Do all the selector lever positions work?
