Wiring Harness: Service and Repair

Removing and installing wiring harness in transmission





Overview

Removing wiring harness in transmission
1. Remove ATF pan.
2. Remove ATF filter.





3. Remove the fastening screw from both connectors.





4. Remove connectors from solenoid valves, 8-12 in overview- .
5. Pull off cable plugs -1, 5 and 13 in overview- .





6. Remove wire set for solenoid valves through opening in the housing.





7. Remove connector for input shaft inductive pickup, 6 in overview- .
8. Pull off cable plugs on oil pressure switches -4 and 3 in overview-.





9. Unscrew fastening screw for ATF temperature sensor -7 in overview- and remove sensor.
10. Pull off cable plugs on output shaft inductive pickup -2 in overview-.
11. Remove wire set for sensors through opening in the housing.





12. Pull off cable plugs -2 in overview-for output shaft speed inductive pickup.





13. Remove electrohydraulic control unit. To do this, unscrew fastening screws and take out the control unit.





14. Remove output shaft speed inductive pickup. To do this, unscrew fastening screw.

Installing wiring harness in transmission





1. Install output shaft speed inductive pickup. To do this, screw in fastening screw.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lbs.)

Note: Screws which are tightened with a torque angle must be replaced with new ones.





2. Install electrohydraulic control unit and screw in new fastening screws.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ft. lbs.) + 90° torque angle





3. Connect cable plug -2 in overview- for output shaft speed inductive pickup.
4. Install wire set for sensors through opening in the housing.





5. Install ATF temperature sensor -7 in overview- and screw in fastening screw.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lbs.)





6. Connect cable plugs for oil pressure switch -3 and 4 in overview- and input shaft inductive pickup, 6 in overview- .
7. Install wire set for solenoid valves through opening in the housing.
8. Connect the cable plugs for the solenoid valves -1, 5, 8- 13 in overview-.





9. Screw in the fastening screw for both connectors.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lbs.)
10. Install ATF filter.
11. Install ATF pan.





12. Unscrew ATF control screw -A- and fill in ATF until a constant discharge is visible at the lifting tube.
13. Screw in oil inspection plug -A- with new sealing ring.
Tightening torque: 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.)
14. Check and if necessary, top up the ATF.
