Wheels For 19" Brake Rotors

Date: 8-10-04

Vehicle Type:
Cayenne Turbo (with performance kit)

Model Year:
As of M.Y. 2003 (3)

Concerns:
The 19" brake rotors and calipers that are part of the "Performance Kit" require new wheels, 9 J x 20 H2 wheels, part numbers, 955.362.140.80 9A1 and 955.362.140.90 9A1 - Version June 2004.

Information:
The dimension and design of the above-mentioned wheels are essentially identical in appearance with the wheels used up to and including model year 2004, part numbers1 955.362.140.50 9A1 and 955.362.140.60 9A1. The only difference is that the spokes are approx. 8 mm thinner on the inside area of the wheel to assure the necessary clearance to accommodate the larger brake rotors and calipers.

Caution!
Damage to wheels from insufficient clearance will result from not using the new version wheels. The dimensions of the 19" brake rotors and calipers require increase clearance on the inside of the wheel.

> In no case may 20" wheels, of the version up to and including model year 2004, be mounted on vehicles with 19" brake rotors.

Wheel Mounting:

Removing and Installation

Remove two wheel bolts and screw in the assembly aids (threaded pins for wheel mounting, part number, 999.571.074.30) into the wheel hub prior to removing a wheel. Then remove the three remaining wheel bolts and remove the wheel, being careful not to come in contact with the brake rotor. The wheels are mounted in the reverse order.

Each wheel is secured with five standard wheel bolts M 14 x 1.5 x 51, part number, 955.361.203.01. Tightening torque: 118 ft lb (160 Nm).

Do not apply grease to the wheel bolts.

Only use genuine Porsche parts for the Cayenne wheel bolts!

Screw in wheel bolts by hand and then tighten equally in diagonally opposite sequence. Start at the top when tightening.
