Removing And Installing Wiring Harness For Rearview Mirror







Removing Wiring Harness For Rearview Mirror
- Remove the rearview mirror.
- Remove mirror glass.







1. Remove suppressor on mirror base "arrow".
2. Fold back door rearview mirror.







3. Press the tab on the upper mirror cover apart with a screwdriver "arrow A" and remove upper mirror cover towards the rear "arrows B".







4. Unlock connector on mirror adjusting motor with 2 screwdrivers "arrow A" and remove "arrow B".







5. Slide the wiring through the mirror base "arrow A" and pull out on the front side "arrows B".







6. Pull out the plug connection for the flap motor from the installation position "arrow A" and disconnect it "arrows B".

NOTE: When technical alterations are made, the wiring colors could change on the plug connections. Therefore, before removing the connector contacts from the connector or the connecting socket, do not forget to make note of the installation position and the wiring colors of the individual wires.







7. Press out the plug contacts, using the press-out tool "a" Press-out and unlocking tools for flat and round plug connections of every size 155 refer to 'Tools', from the connector housing "arrow A"
8. Unlock the combination connector "arrow B" and open it "arrow C".
9. Take out the plug contacts from the combination connector "arrow D".







10. Press in the tabs of the cover using a screwdriver "arrows A" and take out the cover "arrow B".







11. Push the wiring harness downward through the joint "arrow A".
12. First pull the wiring downwards "arrow B" and take it out on the mirror base "arrow C".

Installing The Wiring Harness For Rearview Mirror







1. Connect the wires for the mirror heating "b", flap "c" and positioning motor "d" together using fabric or insulating tape "A".
2. Fold back the wires for the flap and positioning motor "arrow B" and tighten on the wiring harness using fabric or insulating tape "C".

NOTE: To minimize the thickness of the wires, tighten the wires offset on the wiring harness.







3. Slide the wiring harness on the wires for the mirror heating from the inside through the mirror base "arrow A".
4. Pull the wiring harness downwards "arrows B" then pull out the flap joint upwards "arrow C".







5. Insert the wires of the flap motor into the combination connector until the tabs of the plug contacts "1 & 2" click into place "B" audibly.
6. Insert the wires of the positioning motor into the combination connector "arrow C" until the plug contacts "3, 4& 5" click into place audibly.
7. Fold back the connector cover "arrow D" until the locking tab "E" engages audibly.

NOTE:
- When connecting, make sure the order of the wires "1 - 7" is correct in the combination connector.







- The wires "6" and "7" are only available on vehicles that are equipped with a light in the rearview mirror.







8. Slide the wiring through the mirror base "arrows A" and pull out on the inside "arrow B".







9. Link up connector to the mirror adjusting motor "arrow A" until the connector lock "B" engages firmly.







10. Connect together the plug connection to the fold-in motor "arrows A" and press on the adhesive point on the mirror holder "arrow B".







11. Connect the connector to the fog lights "arrow A" until the locking tabs "B" engage audibly.







12. Secure upper mirror housing in lower mirror housing "A" and fold onto mirror cover "B" until the tab "C" locks by clicking into place.







13. Install suppressor on mirror base
14. Install mirror glass.
15. Install the rear-view mirror.

Classification Of The Wire Colors In Combination Connectors







NOTE: When technical alterations are made, the wiring colors could change on the plug connections. Therefore, before removing the connector contacts from the connector or the connecting socket, do not forget to make note of the installation position and the wiring colors of the individual wires.
