Removing And Installing Water Drip Pan

Preliminary work

Remove cabriolet convertible top. Refer to Removing and installing cabriolet convertible top.

Removing water drip pan







1. Remove fastening screw -1- on belt reel -2- and remove belt reel from roll-over bar -arrow-.







2. Remove three fastening screws -1- from the convertible top support -2-.







CAUTION: Removal of water drip pan.
- Material damage (paint damage) to roll-over bar.
- Avoid using sharp-edged tools when inserting the spacing block between the convertible top support and roll-over bar and when loosening the water drip pan from the roll-over bar.


3. Pull convertible top support -2- out by approx. 10 mm -arrow A- and use a spacing block -3- to secure it between the roll-over bar and the convertible top support -arrow B-.
4. Loosen the water drip pan -1- from the two strips of double-sided adhesive tape -2- close to the fastening for the convertible top support.







5. Pull the water drip pan -1- down and out -arrows- behind the convertible top support -3-.

Installing water drip pan







1. Insert the water drip pan -1- behind the convertible top support -2- from below -arrows-.







2. Position the water drip pan -1- on the roll-over bar and press onto the two strips of double-sided adhesive tape -3- close to the fastening for the convertible top support.

CAUTION: Installation of water drip pan.
- Material damage (paint damage) to roll-over bar.
- Avoid using sharp-edged tools when removing the spacing block between the convertible top support and roll-over bar.


3. Remove spacing block -1- between the roll-over bar and convertible-top support -2- (-arrow A-).







4. Position convertible top support -2- on the roll-over bar -arrow B- and screw down with the three fastening screws -3-. Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
5. Place the belt reel -1- on the roll-over bar -arrow-, position it correctly and secure with the fastening screw -2-. Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)







Subsequent work

Install cabriolet convertible top. Refer to Removing and installing cabriolet convertible top.
