Removing hardtop fastenings







WARNING: Material damage to convertible top frame and rear glass window.
- The convertible top must not be moved forwards electrically when in service position.


1. Open convertible top completely.
2. Remove side trim panel.
3. Move convertible top to service position.
3.1 Refer to convertible top service position.

4. Detach cloth.
4.1. Disengage strip on left and right of cloth -4- in downward direction.







5. Detach tension rope.
5.1. Press ball socket -5- of tension rope from ball head of adjusting piece.







6. Detach push rod.
6.1. Press ball socket -6- of push rod from ball head of main folding top bow.







7. Swivel convertible top to the front.
7.1. Swivel convertible top to the extent that the screws -7A - and -7B- of the bracket become accessible.

8. Unscrew the fastening screws.
8.1. Lift tension bow and unscrew fastening screw -7A - over the convertible top compartment; fastening screw -7B- is accessible as normal.







9. Open convertible top completely.
9.1. When operating the convertible top, make sure that the unclipped push bar does not jam in the convertible top mechanism.

10. Remove bracket

Installing pivot-pin locks

1. Remove hardtop mounts. Refer to Removing and installing mounts for hardtop.
2. Remove plastic cover -D- from the bracket -A-.







INFORMATION: The pivot-pin locks are marked for a defined side of the vehicle.

3. Insert pivot-pin lock -B- into the bracket -A-. When inserting the twist locks, ensure that the latching tab of the bracket engages exactly in the cut-out of the pivot-pin lock.
4. Screw down fit bolt -C-, in order to tightly clamp the pivot-pin lock -B- in the bracket -A-. Tightening torque: 17 ftlb.
5. Press plastic cover -D- into the pivot-pin lock.
6. Install hardtop fastenings. Refer to Removing and installing mounts for hardtop.

- The convertible top must not be moved forwards electrically when in service position.


1. Insert bracket.
2. Swivel convertible top to the front.
2.1. When operating the convertible top, make sure that the unclipped push bar does not jam in the convertible top mechanism. Both screws of the bracket are accessible in this intermediate position.

3. Screw on bracket.
3.1. Replace self-locking screws, position bracket with clearance of -X-. Installation dimension: 8 mm from upper edge of door seal and screw down with the fastening screws -7A- and -7B-. Tightening torque: 17 ftlb.±1.5 ftlb.







4. Move convertible top to service position.
4.1. Refer to convertible top service position

5. Engage push rod.
5.1. Press ball socket -6- of push rod onto ball head of main folding top bow.







6. Engage tension rope.
6.1. Press ball socket -5- of tension rope onto ball head of adjusting piece.







7. Attach cloth covering
7.1. Engage strip -4- on left and right of cloth from below.







8. Open convertible top completely.
9. Install side trim panel.
10. Adjust hardtop gap dimensions. Refer to Adjusting hardtop.
