Oil Level Warning Indicator: Description and Operation

9018 - Oil Level Indicator

Oil level measurement is initiated via terminal 15 or manual selection via the "OIL" menu in the instrument cluster.

NOTE: If no oil temperature signal is supplied, the oil level will NOT be measured.

The instrument cluster reads out and displays the oil level.

NOTE: The oil level is automatically measured during refuelling. When the ignition is switched on, the engine oil level is shown on the segment display.

Enabling a measurement after unintentionally starting the engine:
- Following terminal 15 on, automatic measurement is carried out and the measured value is stored, subject to compliance with all the necessary conditions.
- If no wheel speeds are detected, the engine is switched off within 20 s of starting the engine (terminal 15 off) and a "normal" measurement operation is started via terminal 15 within a further 20 s, the previously measured value will be displayed (after the minimum measuring time of 6 s has elapsed).
- If one of these times is exceeded, the stored measurement will be discarded and a corresponding time will be indicated, e.g. 59:59 min.
