Preliminary work
Remove luggage compartment cover
Removing tire pressure monitoring system (RDK) control module
WARNING: Risk of damage to electronic control modules.
^ If care is not taken, electrical and electronic components may be destroyed.
=> Before removing the control module, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
The control module is located beside the brake booster in the luggage compartment.
1. Unscrew fastening nuts -1-.
2. Loosen fastening nut -2- and remove the control module.
3. Release the electrical plug -A- and fold up lock.
4. Remove control module.
Installing tire pressure monitoring system (RDK) control module
1. Connect electrical plug to control module and lock plug -B-.
2. Position control module and secure with both fastening nuts.

Replacing tire pressure monitoring system (RDK)
Note:
If the control module for the tire pressure monitoring system is replaced, it must be programmed using the PIWIS Tester 9718. This will ensure that the control module is taught for the relevant vehicle, country version, and equipment.
WARNING: Sudden voltage interruption of the power supply to the control module.
^ Destruction of the control module.
=> During programming, it is essential to guarantee the power supply for the Porsche System tester. It is essential to connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 40 A to the vehicle battery.
=> Prior to disconnecting the control module, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition and press * >>> to continue.
2. Select vehicle type using the cursor keys.
3. Switch from the vehicle type to the list of control units.
Note:
Follow the instructions on the Tester.
Later versions of the software may display slightly different text or require a slightly different procedure. The instructions you receive from the tester itself take precedence over this description.
4. Select RDK with the cursor keys and press the * >>> key.
5. Select Control unit replacement with the cursor keys and press the * >>> key.
6. Select Read out values (codings) with the cursor keys and press the * >>> key.
7. The message "Reading code" will appear on the screen of the Porsche System Tester. Press the * >>> "key.
8. Switch off ignition and replace RDK control module.
9. After replacement of the control unit, the vehicle data is installed under the menu Write in data. Press the * >>> "key.
10. System Tester displays Coding write-in complete. Press the * >>> "key.
11. Exit the menu, switch off ignition, lock vehicle and read out fault memory once more.
Coding (programming) the control module

1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on the ignition. ->> Continue.
2. Select vehicle type using the cursor keys.
3. Using the ->> key, move from the vehicle type to the list of control modules. Perform the automatic control module search.
4. Select the relevant control module with the cursor keys and press the ->> key.
5. Select Coding with the cursor keys and press the ->> key.
6. Select the version required for the vehicle in question and follow the instructions on the Tester.
7. In the menu Vehicle type, select Control units and then select the menu Special functions.
8. Perform Vehicle handover and follow the instructions of the tester.
9. Read out and erase fault memory.
