942319 Removing And Installing Halogen Bulb

Preliminary work

Preliminary work for halogen bulb
Remove main headlight.

Removing cap of main headlight


Fastening screws for cap:






1. Unscrew four fastening screws -1- from the cap.


Releasing cap:






2. Release cap once at the top and twice at the bottom -a- and remove from the main headlight.

Removing halogen bulb


Installation position:




Disengaging securing clip:






1. Disengage securing clip.


Pulling off electrical connector:






2. Pull electrical connector off bulb and remove bulb.

Removing high beam halogen bulb


Installation position:




Unscrewing bayonet lock:






1. Unscrew high beam bulb, bayonet lock counter-clockwise.


Unplugging electrical connector:






2. Unclip electrical connector -a- and unplug.

Installing halogen bulb

ATTENTION:
Danger of injury. Danger of material damage if bulbs are used or handled incorrectly.
- When installed, the headlight has a high voltage.
- Only bulbs specified in the bulb table may be used.
- Bulbs with a higher wattage may damage the bulb housing.
- To prevent short circuits, the load in question must be switched off when changing bulbs.
- New bulbs must be clean and free of grease. Therefore, never touch bulbs with your bare hands. To change the bulbs, use a cloth or soft paper.
- Observe the safety instructions when replacing a bulb in a Bi-Xenon headlight.
- In certain states, it is compulsory to carry spare light bulbs.


Pushing connector onto bulb:






1. Push the electrical connector fully onto the bulb.
2. Engage locking clip.

Installing high beam halogen bulb

ATTENTION:

- When installed, the headlight has a high voltage.
- Only bulbs specified in the bulb table may be used.
- Bulbs with a higher wattage may damage the bulb housing.

1. Push electric connector onto bulb until it clicks into place.


Installing high beam bulb:






2. Insert high beam bulb into headlight and lock with bayonet lock.

Installing main headlight cap


Positioning cap:






1. Position cap on main headlight and press into place, making sure that the cap engages once at the top and twice at the bottom.


Screwing in the fastening screws:






2. Screw in four fastening screws -1- for the cap.

Subsequent work

Subsequent work for halogen bulb
Install main headlight.
Carry out functional check of headlights.
