Installing Front Main Wire Harness







1 Plug connection between main wire harness and front-end wire harness right
2 Fuse box for fan
3 Connector for front-end control unit
4-6 Connector for navigation unit
7-8 Connector for CD changer
9 Connector for loudspeaker amplifier
10 Connector for luggage compartment light
11 Ground point
12 Plug connection between main wire harness and front-end wire harness left

1. Push through main wire harness in direction of plenum panel.
2. Fit grommets -41- centre, left and right.
3. Clip in wire harness on end plate under windscreen at the two retaining clips -arrow-.







4. Push on connector for fuel level sender -40- -Arrow A- and lock -Arrow B-.







5. Position battery retaining bracket and secure with the four fastening nuts. Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)







6. Push on connector for alarm horn -39- until it is felt to engage.
7. Push on connector for wiper motor -38- until it is felt to engage.

NOTE: Only for vehicles with HBA.

8. Push connector onto front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment -34- until it is felt to engage.
9. Push on connectors for windscreen washer system spray nozzle, left and right -32 and 33- until they are felt to engage.
10. Connect plug connections for PASM, front left and right -30 and 31- until they are felt to engage.







11. Push B+ line -29- onto mounting point at the power distributor as far as the stop. Check B+ line sits firmly.

NOTE: Only for vehicles with I number 536

12. Push on connector for alarm siren -28- until it is felt to engage.
13. Push on connector for pressure switch -27- until it is felt to engage.
14. Push on connector of vertical sensor -26- until it is felt to engage.
15. Push on connector for radio antenna -25- until it felt to engage.
16. Push on connector for GPS antenna -24- until it is felt to engage.
17. Clip in wire harness for end plate under windscreen at the three retaining clips -arrow-.







NOTE: Only in the cabriolet.

18. Push in connector for rod antenna -23- until it is felt to engage.
19. Push on connector for tank filler neck -22-.
20. Push on connector for filler flap switching element -21- until it is felt to engage.
21. Push on connectors of front antenna for tyre pressure monitoring system -19 and 20- at left and right until they are felt to engage.
22. Lay and connect ABS wire harness, front left and right -17 and 18-.
22.1. Laying ABS wire harness
22.2. Tighten fastening screw of connector socket. Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
22.3. Lock the plug connection securely.

23. Push through main wire harness in direction of luggage compartment.
24. Fit grommets -16- left and right.
25. Clip in wire harness to CD changer/navigation unit -arrows-.







26. Clip in wire harness to loudspeaker amplifier -Arrows A- and fix with new adhesive tape -Arrow B-.







27. Clip in wire harness for front end control unit -arrow-.







28. Push on connector for tyre pressure monitoring system control unit -15- until it is felt to engage.
29. Push on connector for brake fluid sender -14- until it is felt to engage.
30. Push on connector for hydraulic unit -13- and lock it.
31. Push together plug connection between main wire harness and front-end wire harness, left -12- until it engages securely. Clip in connector socket.
32. Secure ground point left -11-.
32.1. Connect ground straps and tighten fastening nut. Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)







33. Push connector onto fuse box for fan-2-.
33.1. Push connector onto fuse box for fan -Arrow A-.
33.2. Close lid -Arrow B- until it is felt to engage.
33.3. Position bottom of fuse box for fan on the clip -Arrow C- and clip in -Arrow D-.







34. Push together plug connection between main wire harness and front end wire harness, right -1-.
34.1. Insert connector socket in the holder and turn anti-clockwise 90 degrees.
34.2. Push together plug connection between front-end wire harness and main wire-harness right -Arrow A- and lock -Arrow B-.







Subsequent work

NOTE: Only in the cabriolet.

1. Install front headliner.

2. Secure front headliner in windscreen area.

3. Install sunroof motor.
4. Install operator control unit for garage door opener.
5. Install vehicle electrical system control unit.
6. Install relay carrier 1.
7. Install B+ line from power distributor to transmission connection point.
8. Secure fuse box.
9. Install rear side trim panel at left and right.
10. Install left and right scuff plate.
11. Install front seat at left and right.
12. Install heating/fresh-air unit.
13. Install dashboard.
14. Install tank for windscreen washer system.
15. Install front cover.
16. Install front wheel housing liner on left and right.
17. Install front-end control unit.
18. Install trim panels for luggage compartment.
19. Install loudspeaker amplifier.
20. Install navigation unit with retaining frame.
21. Install CD changer.
22. Install plenum panel cover.
23. Install battery.
