966319 Removing And Installing Tilt Sensor Control Unit

Preliminary work
Remove centre console cover.

Removing tilt sensor control unit

Overview of tilt sensor control unit:

NOTE: The tilt sensor is integrated into the tilt control unit and cannot be separately replaced.

WARNING:
Risk of damage to electronic control modules.
- If care is not taken, electrical and electronic components may be destroyed.
- Before removing the control module, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Unscrewing fastening screws for tilt sensor conrol unit:

2. Unscrew the two fastening nuts -1- and remove the tilt sensor control unit.
3. Remove the two sheetmetal nuts -2- from the tilt sensor control unit.

Removing plug for tilt sensor control unit:

4. Unlock plug for tilt sensor control unit -Arrow a- and remove.

Installing tilt sensor control unit

Connect plug to tilt sensor control unit:

1. Push plug onto tilt sensor control unit until it is felt to engage.

Tightening fastening screws for tilt sensor conrol unit:

2. Check sheetmetal nuts for deformation, replacing if necessary. Push the two sheetmetal nuts -2- onto the tilt sensor control unit.
3. Position tilt sensor control unit -1- and secure with both fastening nuts. Tightening torque 3 ftlb.

Subsequent work
Install centre console cover.
