Removing And Installing Lower Part Of Lid Lock At Rear

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove carpet lining at the rear. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel of rear luggage compartment.

Removing lower part of lid lock at rear

Detaching bowden cables







1. Press out lock washer -1- (-arrow A-) and press bowden cables -2- out of the lower part of the rear lid lock -3- (-arrow B-).







Removing rear lock lower part

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- from rear lock lower part -2-.







2. Press locking tabs together -arrows a- and disconnect connector for microswitch -3-.

Installing lower part of lid lock at rear

Installing rear lock lower part

1. Push in connector for microswitch -3- until the locking tabs engage.







2. Position lower part of lid lock at rear -2- on the body and screw down with the fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7 ftlb.)

Locking bowden cables

1. Engage bowden cable for emergency operation -1-.







INFORMATION: Only for USA/Canada version vehicles.

2. Press in bowden cable for emergency release -2-.
3. Press in bowden cable for servo motor unit -3-.
4. Press in lock washer -4- (-arrow A-).

Subsequent work

1. Check adjustment of rear lid and if necessary adjust upper part of lid lock according to the lower part of lid lock. Refer to Adjusting rear lid.
2. Install carpet lining at the rear. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel of rear luggage compartment.
