Removing and Installing A-Pillar Trim

Preliminary work
1. Open convertible top.
2. Remove sun visor.

Removing A-pillar trim


Installation Position For A-pillar Trim:






1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- from the convertible-top peg housing -2-.


Removing Convertible-top Peg Housing:






2. Pull A-pillar trim -1- inwards along the windscreen frame -2- in -direction of arrow-.

3. Remove A-pillar trim -1- upwards in -direction of arrow-.

Installing A-pillar trim


Installation Position For A-pillar Trim:






NOTE: Ensure that deformation element is seated correctly before installation.

1. Check sheetmetal clips -3- and replace if necessary. Position A-pillar trim panel -1- on windscreen frame-direction of arrow-.


Installing A-pillar Trim:






2. Insert A-pillar trim panel-1- laterally (transition point to dashboard) on windscreen frame -direction of arrow- click into place.


Installing A-pillar Trim:






3. In order to avoid rattling noises, each of the two convertible-top peg housings on the left and right -2- must be facing outwards in relation to the centering pins fitted on the convertible top or hardtop when tightening.
The convertible top must be closed or the hardtop must be fitted to check the adjustment.
Tighten fastening screws-1-. Tightening torque Final tightening 7.5 ftlb.


Installing Convertible-top Peg Housing:






Subsequent work
Install sun visor.
