Good Laboratory practices

Abbreviation: GLP. Internationally agreed upon (OECD and EC) procedure for carrying out analyses, tests and examinations of chemicals to evaluate potential danger to humans or the environment. The procedure identifies standards for organization, personnel, rooms, devices, reagents, test substances, reference substances, work instructions, results reports and archiving. This is meant to simplify international recognition of test results.

Coarse-grained or fine-grained, loose material that can easily be measured out.

GRAS list

Abbreviation of Generally Recognized as Safe. A list of approximately 1,000 chemicals that have been recognized as harmless by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
