Removing And Installing Motor For Drive Mechanism

Preliminary work

Move convertible top to service position. Refer to convertible top service position.

Removing motor for drive mechanism







1. Release -arrows a- and remove connector.







2. Loosen lock washers -1- and lift up and out -arrows A-.







3. Remove pliable shafts -2- from the motor for convertible top operation and lay them aside -arrows B-.
4. Loosen the three fastening nuts -3- and remove motor for convertible top operation by pulling it forwards -arrow C-.

Installing motor for drive mechanism

1. Insert motor for convertible top operation into the studs -arrow A-.







2. Secure motor for convertible top operation with the three fastening nuts -1-. Tightening torque: 3.5 ftlb.
3. Adjust convertible top gear. Refer to Adjusting convertible top gear.
4. Insert pliable shafts -2- into the motor for convertible top operation -arrows B- and secure with lock washers -3- (-arrows C-).
5. Push connector onto motor for convertible top operation until it clicks into place.







Subsequent work

Move convertible top out of service position.
