Removing And Installing Hood

Preliminary work

CAUTION: Risk of damage if the hood is not removed properly.
- Material damage (paint damage) to roll-over bar.
- The hood can only be removed from the vehicle together with the roll-over bar.


1. Remove roll-over bar. Refer to Removing and installing roll-over bar.

CAUTION: Risk of damage when removing the hood frame.
- Material damage (paint damage) to roll-over bar.
- A second person is required for removing the complete hood frame.


INFORMATION: The hood frame can be removed from the roll-over bar complete with all hood bows and with the two hood supports.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the hood support -2-.







2. Pull hood supports -2- outwards by approx. 10 mm on both sides of the vehicle -arrow A-.
3. Remove complete hood frame -3- with the two hood supports -2- to the rear -arrows B- from the roll-over bar -4-.

Installing hood

CAUTION: Risk of damage when installing the hood frame.
- Material damage (paint damage) to roll-over bar.
- A second person is required for installing the complete hood frame.


INFORMATION:
- To position the convertible top frame with respect to the convertible top supports, the two convertible top supports must be pulled out by approx. 10 mm at the bottom.
- This is the only way to install it on the roll-over bar.

1. Pull the hood supports (left and right side) out by approx. 10 mm at the bottom
2. Place complete hood frame -1- with the two hood supports -2- from the rear -arrows A- onto the roll-over bar -3- and position correctly.







3. Position hood supports -2- on the roll-over bar -arrow B- and secure them with the three fastening screws -4-. Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

CAUTION: Risk of damage if the hood is not installed properly.
- Material damage (paint damage) to roll-over bar.
- The hood can only be installed in the vehicle together with the roll-over bar.
- A second person is required to help with installation.
