Removal and Replacement



Removing And Installing Throttle Body

Technical values







Preliminary work for removing throttle body
1. Place protective covers on the vehicle to avoid damaging the body.
2. Remove engine compartment lid.

Removing throttle body
1. Remove hose for oil separator. To do this, disengage and remove rapid-action couplings -arrows-.







2. Undo four screw-type hose clamps -1- on distributor pipe.







3. Unscrew hexagon nut (M6) -arrow-.
4. Undo spring band clamp and pull off hose -2-.







5. Undo spring band clamp -1- on the rubber sleeve of the hot-film mass air flow meter.
6. Move rubber sleeves in the direction of the intake-air distributor.
7. Remove throttle housing and distributor pipe and turn upwards.
8. Release cable plug -2- on electronic throttle adjuster and remove it.
9. Unclip wire -3-.







10. Pull off vacuum line -1- on vacuum modulator.







11. Unscrew four Torx screws (M6 x 50) -arrows- on throttle housing.

Installing throttle body







1. Replace sealing ring -arrow- . Coat sealing ring lightly with Optimol MP3 assembly grease.







2. Position four Torx screws (M6 x 50) -arrows- and tighten them. Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb.
3. Connect vacuum line -1- on vacuum modulator.
4. Clip wire -3- into the cable holder.







5. Connect cable plug -2- on electronic throttle adjuster.
6. Position throttle housing between the intake-air distributors.
7. Push on rubber sleeves.
8. Push rubber sleeve from hot-film mass air flow meter pipe to throttle valve.
9. Tighten screw-type hose clamp -1-.







10. Push on hose -2- and tighten using the spring band clamp.







11. Position and tighten hexagon nut (M6) -arrow- . Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb.







12. Position and tighten four screw-type hose clamps -1- on rubber sleeves.







13. Attach hose for positive crankcase ventilation on oil separator and distributor pipe.

Work subsequent to installing throttle body
1. Install engine compartment lid
2. Read out fault memory and correct any faults that are present. Erase fault memory.
