Diagnostic conditions - V8
- No fault PI 155 stored
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Time after engine starts greater than 10 minutes
- Oxygen sensing active
- Constant driving for at least one minute on a level road surface, without load shifts or gear changes
- Speed range between 70 km/h and 120 km/h (43.5 mph and 74.5 mph)

Diagnostic conditions - V6
- Time after engine starts greater than 80 seconds

- No other oxygen sensor faults stored

Possible cause of fault
- Leaking bolts on the oxygen sensor
- Leaks in exhaust system between engine and catalytic converter
- Oxygen sensor in front of catalytic converter faulty (shift in characteristics/pollution)

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

Distinguishing feature of both sensors:

Oxygen sensor in front of catalytic converter (LSU) has a six-pin plug

Oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter (LSF) has a four-pin plug
