Disassembling And Assembling Intake-air Distributor (Suction Module)

Preliminary work
1. Remove intake-air distributor.

Disassembling intake-air distributor (suction module)
1. Remove three screws on the front bearing cover -1-.







2. Remove two screws on the rear bearing cover -1-.







3. Use a screwdriver to carefully lever the deflection lever off the roller shaft. Only release the deflection lever as far as is necessary to allow it to disengage from the roller shaft catch.












4. Hold the bearing cover at the vacuum unit and lever it off -1-. Check sealing ring and replace if necessary.-2-







5. Carefully lever off the front bearing cover with a screwdriver and remove bearing cover. The bearing cover is very tight because of the sealing ring. Work carefully. Check sealing ring and replace if necessary.







6. Push controller drum out to the rear. To do this, press firmly at the front and take the controller drum out through the rear opening -arrows-. Pull the controller drum out by pulling it firmly. If necessary, drive the controller drum out carefully with a rubber hammer.







7. Check sealing rings and replace if necessary -1-. The controller drum has two plastic bearings in the middle. Check these for smooth operation.







Assembling intake-air distributor (suction module)
1. Push controller drum in from the rear. To do this, use strong, jerky movements.
2. Fit front bearing cover. Screw in the three screws.-1-







3. Place rear bearing cover with vacuum unit in position. When doing so, ensure that the different sized pins for the controller drum fit into the appropriate groove on the bearing cover -1 and 2-. Move bearing cover and deflection lever into the correct installation position. Push deflection lever onto the controller drum shaft.







4. Screw in three screws on the rear bearing cover -1-. Check that the deflection lever is engaged correctly on the roller drum shaft.







Subsequent work
1. Install intake-air distributor.
